Skellig Islands

Take a trip to the Skellig Islands and meet one of the locals . This is very much dependant on the weather and can be booked when you arrive as confirmation of the trip can only be made on the day by the boat owner

View of Little Skellig from the boat covered in Gannets. You cannot land on Little Skellig but can land on Skellig Michael and spend the day visiting the beehive huts that Monks lived in. An inspiring trip for anyone lucky enough to get the weather right

Kenmare has long been established as a center for hill walking and mountain walking.

The annual Walking Festival has turned Kenmare into a walkers paradise with various walks organized over a two week period.

These range from serious mountain climbs of Carrauntuohill to more leisurely walks for the family through the Black Valley and Killarney National Park

Touring the Ring of Kerry is no doubt one of the highlights of any trip to Kerry.

Trips to some of the many small islands around the coast leave daily from small piers and jetties. As you can see from the photograph be prepared for some unusual passengers on your way to the boat

Kenmare and the surrounding waters of Kenmare Bay offer plenty of scope for the water babies amongst you. Scuba diving, Wind-surfing, Water- Skiing, and Sailing are all available nearby

Kenmare is ideally situated for touring the beautiful countryside of County Kerry. The Ring of Kerry and Ring of Beara are both ideally situated on either side of Kenmare Bay. Just a short car drive away, charter boats will take you on fishing trips or touring around the Skellig Rocks once home to the many Monks who lived there in the last century

At present Kenmare has two 18 hole golf courses, one situated in the town itself and one approximately five km. from town called "The Ring of Kerry Golf and Country Club" both clubs with outstanding views of Kenmare Bay
Guided Tours of the surrounding area are available during the Annual walking festival which has become a high point of the year in Kenmare
Fishing is available in all it's forms in and around Kenmare.

Fly fishing on the local lakes with the Kenmare Trout Angling Club

River Fishing is available (with permits available from Sheen Falls Lodge) on the river Sheen famous for it's Salmon fishing

For the more adventurous of you deep sea fishing can be arranged locally by boat.
